Sunday at the West End Festival

Cask ConditionedA sunny Sunday found us at the West End Festival in Glasgow. A street festival kicked off the multi week West End Festival with live music, art fair, and food vendors.

So who goes to the land of Scotch to drink beer? Well beer has been brewed in Glasgow since 600 AD. The monks no longer are making beer, but luck for us, Glasgow does not lack for local made beer.

We stopped for a beer at the Old School House and tried a St. Mungo lager from West Brewery in Glasgow. West brews all their beers by the German purity laws.
Margaret was our tour guide to Glasgow University and surrounds in the west end. We finished the tour with a stop at Brel, a Belgium pub on Ashton Lane. I tried a Kilburn Dark Moor from Kilburn Brewery.

Dinner BBQ at Gareth and Michelle's brought a lovely end to a beautiful day. Mari's photos from the day are posted on Flikr
